My free apple templates are a great outline to use for back to school and fall crafts with toddlers, preschoolers as well as older kids.

Picking apples is one of our favourite activities to do in the fall and we love doing apple crafts before and after. Using these templates will make cutting out, drawing or painting apple shapes so much easier. And they are completely free for your personal use.

You will get two different types of apples to use in crafts. Somes pages one large apple, others have with two apples, three apples and one with four apples.

Apple Crafts

There are so many ways you can use these templates to paint with your kids. Use a paint brush or other items you have on hand and make it interesting and fun for your little one.

Need some inspiration? Here are some ways that you can use these apple templates:

Kitchen Tool Painting. Grab some kitchen utensils such as a spatula, potato masher, forks and some washable paint and paint the apples red, green and yellow. The kitchen tools are a fun and unique way of painting and will immediately intrigue your kids. They’ll make interesting patterns and designs on our apples.

Salt Painting. For this one you will print out the apples on thicker paper or cut them out and glue them to thicker paper such watercolour paper or construction paper. Outline the apples with glue and then sprinkle the glue with salt. Using food coloring mixed with water a small amount of water or liquid watercolor paints then lightly touch a brush to the salt to paint it.

Salad Spinner Art. Print out the apples and cut them out. Glue them to card stock or a paper plate. Cut them out in a circle that is similar in size to your salad spinner. Place the apple inside the salad spinner and add paint drops on the apples. Put the lid on the spinner and spin! Repeat with more colors.

Sponge Painting. Use sponges to paint the apples. Cut the sponge into small squares and dip them into washable kids paint and paint the apples.

Pom Pom Painting. Attached clothespins to Pom Poms and dip them into washable kids paint and paint the apple templates.

Scrape Painting. Print out the apple templates. Add drops of paint to the paper. Then scrape the paint using an old gift card or piece of cardboard. Cut them out and glue them on to another sheet of construction paper.

Fizzy Painting. Find the instruction to make fizzy paint here.

TV Show: Curious Crafting

I’m so excited to finally share my new crafting TV show Curious Crafting which launched July 1 at on TVOkids and TVOkids YouTube!

This show is all about fun and easy crafts for toddlers and preschoolers.

Set in the ultimate crafting space, Curious Crafting is a short form pre-school age series about the joy of making crafts. I lead a rotating cast of adorable little preschoolers (including my own) making magic out of common household objects.

In each episode we transform recycled items into magical crafts like a milk carton school bus, paper bag puppet or cotton pad turtle. The crafters learn and laugh their way through each activity while demonstrating what their young imaginations can create.

Curious Crafting shares the adventure and joy of making art with takeaway lessons for creating crafts at home.

Play is at the core of learning during the early years and it can take many forms. One of the most important of these is sensory play because it engages all of a child’s senses (taste, touch, smell, sight and hearing) and has a enoumous positive impact on brain development.

Our Sensory Play Kits are some fun and easy ways to keep your child engaged while at the same time using sensory play to nurture their mind!
