I love the idea of sensory bottles but sometimes when I go through all the effort and time to create one them my kids, they end up playing with it for a very short time. So I decided a long time ago that making sensory bottles is just as fun as playing with them. I thought if I involved my kids in the process they would more likely want to play with them and thus benefit from their calming effect! And if they didn’t at least we were able to make a beautiful craft together!

Here’s how to create a Garden Sensory Bottle

Grab your plastic VOSS bottle and fill the bottom of the bottle with aquarium rocks. Then fill the rest of the bottle with water and add green glitter (biodegradable glitter if available). Close the bottle.

To make the flowers you can either use foam flower stickers or cut tulips and other flower shapes out of foam sheets. Cut out stems with leaves out of the green foam sheet.

Use your glue to attach the stems just above the aquarium rocks. Glue the flowers on top of the stem. Continue all around your bottle until its covered in flowers! Let your flowers draw fully before playing with it.

Seal the top of the sensory bottle with duct tape or with use a hot glue gun.
