- Large sheet of white paper
- Washable paint in various colors
- Tarp or newspaper (optional)
- Paintbrushes (optional)
Note: Make sure to use washable paint so that the colors can be easily washed off clothes and skin. Covering the ground with a tarp or newspaper can make clean up easier.
To start, you will need a few supplies: a large sheet of white paper, washable paint, and paintbrushes. Lay the white paper flat on the ground and pour the paint into a few different containers. Dip the paintbrushes into the paint and start flicking the paint onto the paper to create a splatter effect. You can experiment with different colors and patterns to create a unique design.
Optional: Before you start painting, write your child’s name on the white paper using painter’s tape. Make sure the tape is pressed down firmly so that the paint does not seep underneath. Once your child is done painting, carefully remove the tape to reveal their name in negative space.
- Use washable paint so that the colors can be easily washed off clothes and skin.
- Cover the ground with a tarp or newspaper to make clean up easier.

TV Show: Curious Crafting
I’m so excited to share my crafting TV show Curious Crafting which launched in July 2022 on TVOkids and TVOkids YouTube! Season 2 airs in the summer of 2023! We were also nominated in 2023 for Best Live Action Preschool Series by the Youth Media Alliance Awards of Excellence.
Set in the ultimate crafting space, Curious Crafting is a short form pre-school age series about the joy of making crafts. I lead a rotating cast of adorable little preschoolers (including my own) making magic out of common household objects.
In each episode we transform recycled items into magical crafts like a milk carton school bus, paper bag puppet or cotton pad turtle. The crafters learn and laugh their way through each activity while demonstrating what their young imaginations can create.
Curious Crafting shares the adventure and joy of making art with takeaway lessons for creating crafts at home.
This show designed for toddlers and preschoolers 2.5 years old and up.
