How to Make Tabletop Soap Bubbles

Step 1: Gather Your Supplies

To get started with tabletop bubbles, you’ll need a few simple supplies that can easily be found around the house or purchased inexpensively. You’ll need dish soap, water, a shallow container or tray (optional) and a straw.

Step 2: Mixing the Bubble Solution

In a mixing bowl, combine a generous amount of dish soap with water. The ratio should be approximately 1 part dish soap to 3 parts water. Gently stir the mixture to avoid creating too many bubbles during the preparation.

Step 3: Setting Up Your Tabletop Bubble Station

Find a clean, flat surface such as a tabletop or countertop and pour out a small amount of the bubble solution. If you don’t want to pour the bubble solution on your counter or tabletop, place a shallow container on the surface and pour in the prepared bubble solution. Now, it’s time to get creative! Take your straw and place it inside the solution at a slight angle and gently start to blow. A bubble will start to form. Continue to gentle blow to make it grow bigger and bigger. Then slowly remove the straw and the bubble should remain. Pop it and start again!

Step 4: Bubble Games and Challenges

To keep the fun going, introduce some exciting bubble challenges. See who can blow the biggest bubble or who can create the most bubbles in one breath!

Tabletop bubbles offer a delightful and educational experience for kids of all ages. As they engage in this bubbly adventure, they enhance their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and scientific curiosity. Moreover, tabletop bubble play provides a wonderful opportunity for bonding with your children, making precious memories that will be cherished for years to come. So, gather your supplies, embrace the magic, and let the laughter and wonder fill the air as you embark on this unforgettable journey with your little ones!

Set in the ultimate crafting space, Curious Crafting is a short form pre-school age series about the joy of making crafts. I lead a rotating cast of adorable little preschoolers (including my own) making magic out of common household objects.

In each episode we transform recycled items into magical crafts like a milk carton school bus, paper bag puppet or cotton pad turtle. The crafters learn and laugh their way through each activity while demonstrating what their young imaginations can create.

Curious Crafting shares the adventure and joy of making art with takeaway lessons for creating crafts at home.

This show designed for toddlers and preschoolers 2.5 years old and up.
