Let your little one create the whimsical world of The Lorax with this The Lorax Sensory Bin inspired by the Dr Seuss book! It’s a wonderful way to help to reinforce the main message of the book, respect for the environment and all living creatures in order to preserve the planet for ourselves and for future generations. This sensory bin is perfect any time or during Dr. Seuss Day on March 2.
How to Set Up The Lorax Sensory Bin
- Fill the bin with green coloured rice. Find out how to easily and quickly colour plain white rice here.
- Add sparkly pom pompon pink, yellow, orange and red.
- Add paper straws, black or brown or purple.
- Next, take a few paper towel rolls and all some colourful tape around them suych as washi tape or masking tape and add them tot the bin.
- Finally, add some bowls and spoons or scoopers for scooping and digging and funnels.
How to Play
I don’t like telling you how your child should play with this sensory bin. That is completely up to them but they might find it fun to put the funnels on top of the cardboard tubes and pour rice down them.
Or they could “plant” the tubes or straws in the rice by filling up the bowls and placing them inside.

TV Show: Curious Crafting
Set in the ultimate crafting space, Curious Crafting is a short form pre-school age series about the joy of making crafts. I lead a rotating cast of adorable little preschoolers (including my own) making magic out of common household objects.
In each episode we transform recycled items into magical crafts like a milk carton school bus, paper bag puppet or cotton pad turtle. The crafters learn and laugh their way through each activity while demonstrating what their young imaginations can create.
Curious Crafting shares the adventure and joy of making art with takeaway lessons for creating crafts at home.
This show designed for toddlers and preschoolers 2.5 years old and up.
