How to Make A Tissue Paper Crab Craft
Step 1: Preparing the Tissue Paper
Gather your red tissue paper. Cut it into small squares or shapes, ensuring they are large enough for easy gripping by little hands. Encourage your children to participate in this step, allowing them to explore different shapes and sizes.
Step 2: Creating the Grabbers and Crab body
Take a sheet of red foam paper and cut out six crab legs that a bent at the knee and two arms that are straight and also cut out two claws. You will glue the claws to the two straight arms with a claw. On a sheet of white card stock trace the outline of a the bowl and cut it out.
Step 3: Attaching the Tissue Paper
To attach the tissue paper, apply some glue tot the white circle, scrunch the tissue paper square up slightly and stick it into the glue. Continue doing this until the entire circle is covered.
Step 4: Add the Legs and Googley Eyes
Turn the crab body over and attach the legs and arms with the claws using glue the the underside of the crab. Turn the crab back over and glue on two googley eyes on top of the tissue paper.

TV Show: Curious Crafting
I’m so excited to share my crafting TV show Curious Crafting which launched in July 2022 on TVOkids and TVOkids YouTube! Season 2 airs in the summer of 2023! We were also nominated in 2023 for Best Live Action Preschool Series by the Youth Media Alliance Awards of Excellence.
Set in the ultimate crafting space, Curious Crafting is a short form pre-school age series about the joy of making crafts. I lead a rotating cast of adorable little preschoolers (including my own) making magic out of common household objects.
In each episode we transform recycled items into magical crafts like a milk carton school bus, paper bag puppet or cotton pad turtle. The crafters learn and laugh their way through each activity while demonstrating what their young imaginations can create.
