Embrace creativity with this hands-on Paper Clock Craft that’s perfect for young minds eager to learn about Benjamin Banneker. This engaging craft not only offers a fun-filled activity but also serves as a vibrant educational tool, blending the worlds of art, history, and mathematics into one. As children cut, color, and assemble their paper clocks, they embark on a timely adventure, gaining skills and absorbing knowledge along the way.

Black History Month shines a spotlight on the achievements and contributions of African Americans throughout history, and what better way to celebrate than by honoring Benjamin Banneker, an African American almanac author, surveyor, naturalist, and farmer, who was instrumental in designing a strikingly accurate wooden clock in the 18th century. Banneker’s ingenuity and passion for astronomy helped lay the foundations for clockmaking and challenged the societal limitations of his time. Through the Paper Clock Craft, children can connect with Banneker’s legacy, celebrating his remarkable contribution to science and history, and inspiring them to explore their own potential for innovation and discovery.

Curious Crafting Season 1 is also now airing in Australia on ABC! Watch it here!

Set in the ultimate crafting space, Curious Crafting is a short form pre-school age series about the joy of making crafts. I lead a rotating cast of adorable little preschoolers (including my own) making magic out of common household objects.

In each episode we transform recycled items into magical crafts like a milk carton school bus, paper bag puppet or cotton pad turtle. The crafters learn and laugh their way through each activity while demonstrating what their young imaginations can create.

Curious Crafting shares the adventure and joy of making art with takeaway lessons for creating crafts at home.

This show designed for toddlers and preschoolers 2.5 years old and up.
