Pretend play bins like Birthday Cake Sensory Play or Bubble Tea Party encourage creativity and imagination. And your kids will have so much fun they won’t even know they’re getting smarter with STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) activities like Sink or Float Soup, Magnetic Letter Hunt or Ice Cream Scoop and Count.
Stronger Together Handprint Craft for MLK Jr. Day
Grab the free printable of the globe with the heart in the middle below. Print it out on white paper or card stock.
Invite your little one colour in the globe green and blue and the heart red.
Grab a sponge brush and multicultural paint. Let your little one paint each hand two different skin tones (ie. one black and one white). If doing this activity with smaller children like toddlers you can paint their hands for them to reduce the mess.
Then make two handprints on either side of the globe as if the hands are holding up the globe together. The two hands are holding up the globe or the whole world together.
My kids loved this a really enjoyed painting their hands and getting their hands painted. My 3.5 year olds also loved stamping their hands so much that I allowed them to make more than one hand stamp! They had a blast!
