I am always looking for great ways to make bath time fun and exciting for my 3 year old. I was inspired by Busy Toddler‘s Pom Pom Bath but Daddy is usually on duty for bath time and isn’t always as inclined to try ‘new toys’ in the bath as I am.
But after he saw how much fun Miss 3 had playing with caps in water with the Caps Kitchen activity, he was willing to give the idea a go.
And as I knew it would be – it was a complete hit! Almost too good because she didn’t want to get out of the bath she was having so much fun.

If it looks like there isn’t much water in this bath, that’s because there isn’t. My daughter doesn’t like a lot of water in her bath.
Here’s what you’ll need to enjoy your caps bath!
Supplies

- Squeeze pouch caps
- Colourful Bowls
Set Up
So easy. Fill up your tub and add the caps! I gave the caps to my daughter to toss in because really, that is half the fun!
As we learned with Caps Kitchen, caps are made for water fun. They dry easily and will not get stuck in your drain.
I added some colourful bowls. She counted them, sorted them and played with them. She used the coloured bowls to scoop and collect them.
This activity was such a hit that I may move some of her bath toys out in favour of caps baths all the time.
So start saving your caps if you havent started already. You don’t need a lot of them in the bath to make it fun for your toddler or preschooler. Tossed in a handful and they will go crazy!

Thank you for the inspiration! I’ve been collecting caps from our milk jugs, juice jugs, tea jugs, and water jugs. They all have a similar size lid, but all different colors! Peanut butter jar lids could be great for these activities as well! Again, thank you for the inspiration! ♥

Great idea! I’m going to try this with my gigantic stash of multicolored sharpie caps! I made alcohol ink with the pens, but I couldn’t bring myself to throw away all of the brightly colored caps. My god daughter is going to love it! Thanks!!
