Create this simple Pom Pom painted Christmas tree craft with your toddler or preschooler this season. It’s a fun way to paint and create negative print of a Christmas tree. Use this technique to create festive Christmas card for family and friends!

How to Make a Pom Pom Christmas Tree
- Cut out a Christmas tree out of card stock.
- Tape it to sheet of construction paper (red, green, white or black) using a piece of masking tape.
- On a paper plate pour out some green, red and white paint.
- Attach clothes pins to small to medium sized pom poms.
- Dip the pom poms into the paint and start painting all around your Christmas tree.
- Continue with different colours until the entire page is covered in paint and the tree has been complete outlined in paint.
- Remove the card stock tree.
- Take a sheet of gold sparkly paper and draw and cut out a star. Glue it to the top of the Christmas tree.
- Optional: Add green or red glitter to the paint before it dries.
Age Suitability
This activity is good for toddlers, and preschoolers, kindergarten aged children 18 months old and up. My kids are 4.5, 4.5 and 8 years old.
Mess Level
The mess level for this activity is medium. Use a tray to keep the paint and glitter from getting everywhere.
