Pom pom seed garden sensory bin is fun spring sensory and pretend play bin for toddlers and preschoolers. It’s an easy and colourful way to occupy your little one at home!

How to Set up Pom Pom Seed Garden Sensory Bin

Grab your sensory bin and fill it with black turtle beans. If you don’t want to use black beans or if you don’t have black beans you can use rice, aquarium rocks or real dirt.

Add some colourful pom poms to the black beans and a shovel and rake and a few small plastic flower pots. This is all that you really need for this sensory bin to be fun! If you have available I also added some artificial flowers, and plastic bugs.

How they played

My twins immediately started scooping and pouring the beans into the containers. At first I just let them play scooping and pouring. The day before we were out in the garden doing pretty much the exact same thing, digging and planting seeds. I asked the if they remembers planting in the garden yesterday and they did.

I told them that the Pom Poms were are seeds and they have to plant them in the flower pots. The day before not only did we do some planting in the garden we also seeded out grass. So my twins enjoyed using the rake to rake the beans and pretended to plant the Pom Poms in the pretend soil.

This was a fun and colourful way to celebrate spring. Check out these other fun spring sensory bins:
