Giant painting activities are the best! They are a great way to add movement to an art activity as well as excitement.

In keeping in the spirit of earth Day, I reused a giant piece of paper that I used for another painting activity that we did during Easter, flipped it around and drew a circle on the other side.

To make a perfect giant circle I create a make shift protractor using a piece of ribbon. Then I drew the continents using a sharpie. There is no need for this to be completely accurate. I was still able to talk about the names of the different continents with my kids as they painted.

Balloon Painting and More…
To paint your giant planet earth we used a few painting methods. First I blew up a few balloons just a small amount and let them use those balloons to paint the Earth. This created a beautiful texture but they did get messy and slippery after a while so have paint brushes handy.

I let them finish with the paint brushes and the results were amazing!

Let your giant planet earth dry and they decorate your front porch with it for Earth Day. Add a giant heart from red construction paper and giant arms using construction paper to create a giant hugging the earth craft.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO WITH YOUR GIANT PLANET EARTH?
