Make quiet time their favourite time!

Play is at the core of learning during the early years and it can take many forms. One of the most important of these is sensory play because it engages all of a child’s senses (taste, touch, smell, sight and hearing) and has a enoumous positive impact on brain development.

My Sensory Play Kits are a fun and easy way to keep your child engaged while at the same time capitalizing on the benefits of sensory play to nurture their mind!

How to Make A Hedgehog Suncatcher Craft

Grab a sheet of black construction paper and draw the outline of a hegdgehog. Cut it out using scissors.

Use boxcutters to create and outline of the hedgehog. Use a piece of cardboard to prevent the boxcutters from damaging your surface. Grab your contact paper and tape it to the the table with a small piece of tape. Peel back the paper backing and stick the hedgehog outline on it.

Decorating Your Hedgehog

Invite your little one to use red, orange and brown tissue paper to decorate your hedgehog sticking it on the sticky side of the contact paper. Once they are done, take another sheet of contact paper and attach it to the sticky side of the hegehog to seal the tissue paper.

Attach a large googley eye on the front and a Pom Pom on the nose of the hedgehog.

Use a piece of double sided tape to display your hedgehog to a window!

Age Suitability

This activity is good for kids 2.5 years and up. My kids are 3.5, 3.5, and 7 year old.
