AHEAD: Ocean Water Slides: Outdoor Under the Sea Play is fun way to play with your under the sea creatures outside in the spring or summer! Set up this super fun ocean animal slide activity for your toddler or preschooler. Its an amazing way to teach your little one about cause and effect!
Need a fun and quick toddler activity to do outside this summer? This fun water slide activity will fit the bill!
Grab your toddler slide (I used our Little Tikes Slide) and your kiddie pool. We did this activity in early fall it was a nice day but not nice enough for my little ones to go in the water so I only put a small amount of water in the kiddie pool. Just enough for them to step in and splash with their feet. If you are doing this activity in the summer you can definitely put more water.
CAUTION: The Little Tikes slide will get very very slippery if you add water. I did not allow my twins to go down the slide themselves, just the sea creatures.
I used these same under the sea foam cut out in our Under the Sea Bath activity. So once you cut them out you are able to reuse them for multiple activities including this fun counting fish sticky wall. I placed the foam cut outs on the slide. This step is not necessary if you don’t have time or foam sheets.
I then handed them all of our under the sea creatures and seashell and let them slide them down the slide!
How they Played
I honestly didn’t know how long they would play with this activity but it went on and on and on and on. They played slides the fish and other animals down the slide into the water over and over again.
As they let the fish go down the slide I used parallel talk to discuss the names of the animals.
