Torn Paper Witch Hat is a fun and easy way to craft this Halloween. Create a spooky witch hat using torn pieces of the paper! A great fine motor and pre-scissor craft for kids to try this fall.

How to Make a Torn Paper Witch Hat Craft

Salt Painted Witch Hat Craft for Kids
  1. Download and print the witch hat template using the link in the supplies section below.
  1. Grab some construction paper in the colours that you want to use for your hat.
  2. Invite your little one to tear the paper using their fingers into small pieces. You will be surprised at how tricky this can be for little ones to do the first time, so model the opposite tearing action for them before attempting to do this activity.
  1. Once you have a pile of all the colours of torn paper you will need for your craft, take a bottle of glue or a glue stick and spread glue all over one section of the witch’s hat.
  1. Glue down the torn pieces of paper.
  2. Continue until the entire witch hat is covered paper.

TV Show: Curious Crafting

I’m so excited to finally share my new crafting TV show Curious Crafting which launched July 1 at on TVOkids and TVOkids YouTube!

Set in the ultimate crafting space, Curious Crafting is a short form pre-school age series about the joy of making crafts. I lead a rotating cast of adorable little preschoolers (including my own) making magic out of common household objects.

In each episode we transform recycled items into magical crafts like a milk carton school bus, paper bag puppet or cotton pad turtle. The crafters learn and laugh their way through each activity while demonstrating what their young imaginations can create.

Curious Crafting shares the adventure and joy of making art with takeaway lessons for creating crafts at home.

This show designed for toddlers and preschoolers 2.5 years old and up.
