Leaf Letters

For this fun activity we headed out to our backyard where all of our big trees that provide shade all summer started to drop their beautiful leaves. First, we collected a bunch of leaves. Then I wrote out large letters in sidewalk chalk. As I was writing out the letters, I called them out and my toddlers joined me and we talked about their sounds as well.

Then I invited my toddlers to trace the letters using the leaves. They loved this! Both my toddlers are really into their letters right now and loved the ideas of using the leaves to cover up the letters.
