What You’ll Need
- Parchment paper
- Scissors
- Large pom pom (for the spider’s body)
- Pipe cleaners (for the spider’s legs)
- White string
- Glue gun
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Fold the parchment paper:
Start by cutting a large square piece of parchment paper. Fold the square in half diagonally to form a large triangle. Press along the fold to create a sharp crease, ensuring the paper stays flat. Trim off any excess paper to ensure you have a neat square shape.

- Second fold:
Fold the triangle in half again, bringing the two corners together to form a smaller triangle. Once again, press firmly along the fold to make a crisp crease.

- Third fold:
Fold the triangle in half one more time, creating an even narrower triangle shape. Make sure the folds are aligned, and press down to secure the shape.
- Final Fold Trim the excess paper:
Fold the triangle one more time, creating an even narrower triangle shape. Fold the A line to meet the B line. At this point, you should have a long, skinny triangle that looks like a wedge of pie. Cut the excess paper sticking out at the bottom. This will give your folded triangle a clean and even look, making it easier to cut out a symmetrical spiderweb design.

- Cut the spiderweb pattern:
Use scissors to cut out this slightly curved lines along the main fold. Start by cutting a curved line into the end of the triangle. Then cut curved lines along the triangle. Be sure not to cut all the way to the end otherwise your spiderweb will fall apart. Leave space between cuts to keep the web intact. Once you are done cutting carefully unfold the paper to reveal your spiderweb design.

- Make the pom pom spider:
Fold a pipe cleaner in half and then half again and cut along the folds to created 4 spider legs. Repeat with another pipe cleaner. Take a large pom pom and glue the legs to the bottom, creating eight legs for your spider. Bend the pipe cleaner pieces slightly to make the legs look more lifelike. Place it on the paper spiderweb. Just like a real spider the Pom Pom spider with stay on the web once its legs are placed in-between the holes of the web.

- Attach the spider to the web:
Cut a piece of white string and tie one end around the spider’s body. Use the other end of the string to attach the spider to the spiderweb, letting it dangle from the center.

- Hang up your spiderweb:
Use a small piece of string or tape to hang the spiderweb from the ceiling, a window, or any other spot that could use a bit of Halloween fun.

This craft brings a classic Halloween vibe into your home while giving kids the chance to explore their creativity and practice some cutting skills. It’s a fun and easy way to decorate for the season!
