Celebrate St Patrick’s Day this March 17 by getting a little crafty with your kids with this amazing list crafts. You and your child will be able to make spiraling rainbows, a leprechaun trap from a cereal box, shamrock rings and rainbow shakers and more!
But the best part is that these crafts only require a few easy supplies that you probably already have at home! Also, I have included many of the necessary templates need for these crafts as well as materials and instructions. So you don’t need to click anywhere else to get them!
So be sure to save those paper towel rolls and crepe paper and take a peak in your craft drawer for construction paper and glue! They will be perfect for some of the cutest ideas on this list!

Leprechaun Crafts
Puffy Paint Leprechaun Craft
Puffy Paint Leprechaun is a fun and adorable craft to create for St. Patrick’s Day. This easy craft is great for toddlers & preschoolers.

Leprechaun Paper Bag Puppet
Craft this adorable leprechaun using a paper bag and yarn!

Materials:
- Paper bag
- Orange yarn
- Green, black, yellow, pink and beige construction paper
- Scissors
- Glue
- Google eyes
- Pink pom pom
- Shamrock Sticker
- Black Marker
Instructions:
- Cut out a green hat from the green construction paper. Glue on a black band. Cut out a buckle from gold foam sheets or yellow paper. Put your leprechaun’s hat together.
- Cut out a circle for the face and semi circels for the ears from beige construction paper.
- Cut three strands of orange yarn and start to braid it. Make it long enough to reach all the way around the head of the leprechaun. Make the braid loose so that you can thread yarn between the braid.
- Once complete, cut small strands about 10 inches and thread them through the braid around the middle or where the beard falls at the bottom of the face. Continue until the bottom of the beard is covered.
- Glue on the beard to the bottom of the face. Glue on the ears behind it.
- Glue on the google eyes.
- Cut two small circles from pink paper for the cheeks and glue these on.
- Glue on the pink pom pom for the nose.
- Draw on the mouth with the black marker.
- Glue the head to the paper bag.
- Glue the hat to the top. Add a shamrock sticker if available to the hat.

Make these easy, one-of-a-kind craft stick leprechaun hats and pretend to wear them during your St. Paddy’s Day event and many times after.

Sponge Painted Leprechaun Craft

Materials:
- Green, white, pink, black and beige construction paper
- Sparkly gold construction paper
- Sponges
- Orange paint
- Scissors
- Glue
- Paper plate for the paint
- Black marker
Instructions:
- Print out the hat, beard and head template. Use it as a guide to cut out a green hat from the green construction paper. Glue on a black band. Cut out a buckle from gold foam sheets or yellow paper. Put your leprechaun’s hat together.
- Use the beard template to cut out the beard and ears from beige construction paper.
- Pour orange paint in a plate and use a cut piece of sponge to create the beard.
- Cut two circles for the eyes from white paper, two smaller circles from black paper. Cut another circle from pink paper for the nose. Glue them on to the faces. Use a marker to draw on the mouth.
- Use the template to cut out the body from green construction paper.
- Glue on the beard and hat.
Pom Pom Painted Leprechaun Craft

Materials:
- Paper plate
- Pom poms
- Clothespins
- Green, black pink, and gold felt or construction paper
- Glue
- Scissors
- Googley eyes
- Black and brown marker
Instructions:
- Cut out a green hat from the green construction paper. Glue on a black band. Cut out a buckle from gold foam sheets or yellow paper. Put your leprechaun’s hat together. Glue on a shamrock sticker.
- Attached a clothespin to a pom pom. Pour orange paint out on a paper plate. Dip in the pom pom and paint the beard on the outside of the paper plate.
- Glue on the google eyes. Cut and glue on two pink circles for the cheeks. Draw the mouth, nose and eye brows with a marker.
- Glue on the mat.
Leprechaun Suncatcher Craft

Materials:
- Contact paper
- Orange tissue paper
- Green, black, pink and sparkly gold construction paper
- Glue
- Scissors
- Plastic suction cup and string or double sided tape
Instructions:
- Cut out a green hat from the green construction paper. Glue on a black band. Cut out a buckle from gold foam sheets or yellow paper. Put your leprechaun’s hat together.Â
- Peel and tape a sheet of contact paper to a table. Add layers of orange tissue paper. Cover with another sheet of contact paper. Use scissors to cut the it into the shape of a beard.
- Cut out an oval from beige construction paper for the head. Cut and glue two black circles for eyes and a pink circle for the nose. Glue the head to the top of the beard.
- Glue the hat on top and hand in a window using a plastic suction cup or double sided tape.

St. Patrick’s Day Windsocks
Grab construction paper from your craft drawer to make this smiling and googly-eyed shamrock windsock. While your at it make a pot of gold and shamrock one as well!

Materials:
- Green, yellow and black construction paper
- Gree pipe cleaners
- Rainbow colored crepe paper
- Cotton balls
- Cotton balls
- Glue
- Scissors
- Shamrock stickers
Instructions:
- Fold and cut a sheet of green construction paper in half. Cut a strip of black construction paper and glue to green construction paper. Cut a buckle from yellow construction paper and glue it to the belt. Roll the green construction paper into a tube and secure with glue.
- Glue on a green pipe cleaner handle to the top.
- Cut out strips about 12 inches long from rainbow colored crepe paper.
- Glue cotton balls to the end of three strands for clouds. Repeat with three different strands.
- Add shamrock sticker to the top.
- Hang outside on a sunny day.

Shamrock Rings
Imagine how much fun kids will have wearing these shamrock rings on their fingers. All you need are a few pipe cleaners!Â

Materials:
- Green pipe cleaners (1–2 per ring)
Instructions:
- Hold it horizontally and imagine dividing it into three equal sections for the shamrock leaves.
- Bend one section into a small loop and twist the base once to secure it.
- Create the second and third leaves. Repeat the looping and twisting process two more times so you have three rounded loops that form a shamrock shape.
- Adjust the shape. Gently spread and round the loops so they look even. This is your shamrock top.
- Form the ring band. Take the remaining length of pipe cleaner and wrap it around your child’s finger to size the ring.
- Secure the ring. Twist the end tightly around the base of the shamrock. Trim excess if needed or tuck it in so it doesn’t poke.
- Wear and enjoy! Adjust for comfort and make more in different shades of green.

I’m so excited to finally share my new crafting TV show Curious Crafting which launched July 1 at on TVOkids and TVOkids YouTube!
