How to Explain Civil Rights?
Civil rights are the rights each person enjoys and these rights are granted and protected by the U.S. government. Many other countries also have civil rights enshrined in their individual constitutions. Therefore all people are equal regardless of the color of their skin, religion, age, disability or nationality. It is against the law to discriminate against someone based on these features. The goal of civil rights is to ensure that every person is treated the same.
