Simple & Fun Easter Activities for Babies

Easter isn’t just for big kids! Babies may be too young for an egg hunt, but that doesn’t mean they can’t join in on the holiday fun. With a little creativity, you can introduce Easter-themed activities that are baby-friendly, engaging, and perfect for their little hands to explore. Think soft textures, gentle colors, and plenty of opportunities for sensory discovery.

If you’ve ever tried to set up an activity for a baby, you know their version of “playing” doesn’t always go the way you expect. Sometimes they’re fascinated by a single object for minutes at a time (a major win!), and other times they’re way more interested in chewing on their toes. That’s totally okay! The goal isn’t to force play but to create simple setups that invite exploration.

Why You’ll Love These Easter Activities for Babies

  • Simple and Mess-Free Options – Some activities require zero cleanup, while others are easy to set up and wipe down in seconds.
  • Supports Baby’s Development – These play ideas encourage sensory exploration, hand-eye coordination, and early motor skills.
  • Perfect for Easter Fun – You get to celebrate the holiday in a way that works for the youngest family members.
  • Great for Independent Play or Bonding Time – Whether baby is happily exploring on their own or you’re sitting beside them for extra engagement, these activities work either way.

Easter Play at Our House

When my babies were little, holidays always felt extra special because I got to experience them in a new way. I remember setting up their first-ever Easter basket and watching them grab at the crinkly paper with absolute awe. I’ve also learned that sometimes, the simplest activities are the biggest hits—like filling a plastic egg with rice and shaking it like a maraca. Babies don’t need fancy setups; they just need a little invitation to explore.

I love that these Easter activities work for babies at different stages. Whether your little one is rolling, sitting, or crawling, there’s something here to engage their curiosity. And if they’re just not into it? That’s fine, too! Baby play is all about following their lead.
